About

Eman Sarhan is a Physics and Astronomy teacher at Amundsen High School on Chicago’s North side. Her alma maters are University of Jordan, DePaul University, and American College of Education where she earned multiple degrees in the field of Physics, Astronomy, a Master’s in Secondary Education, and a Master’s in Educational Leadership. At Amundsen, Eman sponsors the “Girls Engineering Club” who meet once a week around their lunch time to work on different engineering related activates among them preparing for Make-a-thon sponsored by Dyson Company who is the main sponsor of the Amundsen Maker Lab.

Eman was assigned to the motion sensitive MRI lab where she worked with Dr. Klatt. The lab is working on developing new techniques in motion sensitive MRI that may lead to early diagnosing of Alzheimer’s disease. Eman is working on a project with Dr. Klatt to set up a table top MRI system where students in the Fall will be able to use it for research purpose.
Eman is looking forward to bring her engineering club to spend a career day with Dr. Klatt’s lab team as part of the outreach proposal that Dr. Klatt is working on.
