About
Jae Park is a high school physics and chemistry teacher at Ogden International High School, currently in his third year of teaching. He has a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Drake University. Initially pursuing a doctorate in physical therapy at Washington University in Saint Louis, Jae's career path shifted during the pandemic as he discovered a passion for inspiring curiosity and critical thinking in science education. This realization led him to pursue a master’s in secondary education from Northeastern Illinois University after taking a leave of absence from his doctoral studies. In the summer of 2024, Jae collaborated with the UIC BEST Program to develop a comprehensive curriculum that introduces biomedical engineering concepts to high school students.
